Catherine Friesen-Dicey was the last Teacher at Reche School from 1932 until 1939 when the school closed. She became a lifetime Reche Club member. She was known as ‘Kay’ to her friends.
Catherine was born in Manitoba, Canada in July 1909. She emigrated to the U.S. with her parents at age 14. Catherine became the wife of Jacob Hindorff in Fallbrook. They were later divorced and Catherine married Charles A. Dicey of DeLuz. She lived in a home behind the school for a time. She was a Reche Club volunteer helping to preserve the Reche School house. In 2002 she contributed the cost of painting the school back to its original color. She died in 2005.
