Laura Fay Uhrhamer White
Laura Fay Uhrhamer was born in Minnesota and grew up on a dairy farm in St. Troy Falls, Wisconsin. She was the youngest of six siblings.
Fay, as she preferred to be called, moved to Fallbrook in 1934 to work at the Fallbrook Citrus Association packing house. While working at the packing house, she met David White.
David and Fay were married in 1936. They started a lemon and avocado ranch on a part of David’s old family homestead on Live Oak Park Road.
The White’s had 3 children, Harry, Judith and Mary. Fay was a charter member of St. Stephen Lutheran church, where she was quite active.
Fay and David were members of the Farm Bureau, the Reche Club and the Fallbrook Historical Society. Fay made displays for the Fallbrook Farm Bureau for many years at the Del Mar Fair. Her displays were award winners each year.
